My 2006 Prius replaced a large SUV, and I can get almost as much in the Prius as I did in the SUV. As the volunteer Costumer for several schools I haul everything from sewing machines, fabric, irons, to 2×4s and tools in the Prius. The other parents are amazed at what will fit in the back of this car, and how great the gas mileage is. I drive from South Carolina, to Florida, and once up to Pittsburg, Pa. to get supplies that we have donated, or find cheap. I have fit 5 people in it: 1 in a car seat, 2 teen boys with laptops, and suitcases for all of us for a weeklong trip- and then everything that was bought on the trip. We fit in everything!
I love the Navigation System, the handling, and the display of my Prius…and I have loaned it to several friends- 3 of them ended up buying their own Prius! My husband had a 2007 Camry Hybrid that was totaled 2 months ago, and as soon as the new 2012 models get to the dealers we will be proud owners of another one. My sister in law and brother liked our Camry Hybrid so much they got their own, as did 2 of our adult children’s friends. All in all I think we have “sold” 6 or 7 of Toyota hybrid cars after someone has driven ours.
Can’t wait till it is my turn for a new car, I will hand my ‘06 down to family and get the new Prius V. I get excited thinking of all the stuff I will be able to fit into that! Maybe more lumber, lots of costumes…gallons of free paint….Mine only has 95,670+ miles so I have a few years before I get another Prius!
